Family of Four

We love our little Joanna Joy, it has been so much fun to be a family of four and carry our girls around.

Lorena loves being big sister and playing and doing everything with JJ.

We are very blessed.

Bible Institute

These last few years God has put on Mário´s heart the need to teach and train the people from our church in a more intentional way.  Most of our church our first generation believers and don´t have the Christian background and solid foundation that many of us have been blessed to have. That is why we have been involved with a local Bible Institute that teaches in the church after work hours. Mário has been asked to be the director of the BI and this week we have had a group of four missionary pastors teaching "Good Soil" a very Biblical and practical Evangelism Class. The students have been very engaged and receptive to the class. One of the ladies came up to Mário and thanked him for insisting that she take part in the class. Please pray that God would use our church to reach other for Christ.

New School Year

This week we started our new school year. We have 17 kids that come fulltime to our homeschool together group. Once again I am in charge of organizing the preschool and and teaching English. It is a great challenge and a tremendous responsibility. Please pray for us as we have a whole school year to work with these children. Our prayer is that each one would come to know the Lord and live lives that honor Him. We have two children who do not come from christian homes.

If you would like to bless the school with books, material, volunteer work or anything else please feel free to contact me.

Vacation Bible School

This year we were very blessed to have Clackamas Bible Church coming to help us with our Vacation Bible School. It was a very intense week hosting 18 people. They were a great help. It was a blessing to be able to reach out to our community and share the gospel with the children that came each day and also with several of the parents that would bring them.

We see that each year it seems to be more challenging to reach children in our area. Please pray that we would be able to do a weekly ministry kids ministry to be able to reach and teach them all year round.

Fire

Last weekend we had a heat wave that just about knoked us out, the temperature reached 105º F. Then Sunday morning we woke up to the news of a large fire about 100 miles from us that had killed several people. We have now heard that 64 people have died. Firefighters from all over the country and from Spain have come to help fight the fire. Today they have said the the fire has been contained.
Please pray that the Lord would open the eyes of the Portuguese people and that they would turn to Him for salvation, the only one who can save them from the eternal fire.

Joanna Joy

We are just so thankful for this sweet baby girl. She has been adjusting to a full life with us and we are learning to care for her as well. She has quite a bit of dark straight hair, and soft blue eyes. She grew a full kilo in her first month of life. Please pray that we will be able to raise her in the fear of the Lord, and that she might have a heart for Him.

Building up families

This past week and until Sunday we have had Pastor David Merkh here with us. He is a missionary from the US to Brazil and has a wonderful ministry purposed in building up families. He teaches what the Bible says about the family, how it was God that created it to mirror, spread, and represent God´s glory in the world.

He has also sat down with us, with the leadership of our church and other pastors to teach us how we can better serve the families of our churches.

It is our prayer to have strong families that love and live for the Lord.

Count down!

39 Weeks + 2 days.
Please be praying for us these next few days. My due date is coming up on Tuesday, so we are just waiting for her to be born.  We went to the doctor today, she said everything looks good, but she dosn´t really want me to go past my due date and we are really hoping not to have an other C-section. Please pray with us for this, we know He is in control.

Shepherds Conference

Mário was blessed to spend his last week in the US at the Shepherds Conference. It was an unexpected surprise and we were very excited that he was invited. He and my dad were able to be there and participate, learning from wonderful pastors and church leaders.  Mário came back challenged once again to serve His great God and be faithful to the calling God has given him. It was a great way to finish up our time in the States and come back renewed. Please pray for God to grant him wisdom as he leads the Miratejo church.

Visiting Grace Community Church.

Baby

We are back from our trip to the States. We were happy to be able to go to the doctor this week and have a check up and ultrasound. It looks like our little girl is healthy and growing well.
She is about 33 weeks old and is expected to arrive sometime around the first week of May. The next few weeks we will be moving some furniture around and sorting through baby items and clothing. We want to have everything ready for her arrival. Pray for us. God has been teaching us to trust in Him and not walk in fear.

Melissa just had her baby last week.

Traveling on the West Coast

We have had a wonderful time traveling in Oregon and California. Mário had the opportunity to preach and we also shared in several churches and with many friends individually about what God has been doing in Portugal and in our lives.
We are excited that 40% of the funds for a new van have come in! Thank you for contributing for this!
